After being back for some time, i think it is time to share some info on the EA6/DL4XT activity i had.

First of all, i was blown away by the number of QSOs that i made. 510! my goal was 450 QSOs, so i topped it by 60.

I left work on Wednesday early to catch my flight. My plan was to take Eurowings direct from Hamburg to Palma de Mallorca. It was very close, but did end up working.

Security in Germany was sceptical as always regarding radios, so they took a particle test of everything.

After passing that, i waited at the gate until i got assigned a seat, 26F, the boarding pass said window.

Sadly, on entering the plane i found out that 26F did NOT have a window on this EW A319.

It was a bit of a Funny moment.

the flight was a bit bumpy but appart from that everything was fine.

upon arriving in PMI, it took some time to get out of the airport.

I chose to take public transport from airport to my Hotel. this worked fine.

when i arrived at the Hotel, i put all my stuff in the room and visted my family who where in a different hotel.

We had a Short drink which marked the end of the first day.

on the next day i set up the equiptment, i went with a 10m Fiberglass pole as base, and attached 10m wire to it as well as a Balun.

this made for a decent 14mhz antenna, which was the band i was plannign to be QRV the most.

since i had limited space on the balcony, and no Garden, i had to resolt to a antenna that doesnt require either.

I was really happy with the results of this antenna, and will use it in future DXPeditions.

After that, i made some QSOs and enjoyed the time on the Island. It was very nice there, only downside being the ammount of tourists, which i cant really complain about since i am one of them:)

Sadly, on the next day i came to find out that My antenna had issues during the night. one of the pole elements loosened and the whole thing ended up retracting about 3m, pinching the wire in between. This resulted in a mess of fibreglass and wire around it.

fixing this took a lot of my sanity and around 4hrs of operation.

when putting the antenna up again, i made sure to fasten the elements even better.

The next days were going without problems, only me worring that the constant wind would damage the antenna again.

Food was amazing, i can really reccomend eating at restaurants.

On the day of departure, i packed all my bags and made myself on the way to the airport again.

I opened my app to look at the loads of the flights to hamburg, and from that moment on i knew i was in for a long day of traveling.

Every directflight was completly full, so i started looking for other ways. the only thing i could find was a flight to Geneva which still had some seats open.

So i Booked that, went trough security and actually made it on the flight in Business class.

upon arrival in Geneva, i searched from a way to Hamburg, and ended up finding a connection via Brussels.

I booked them, and checked in my luggage again. Security was the same as in germany, particle test.

i got on the flight to brussels in Business class to, 2/3!!

In brussels, i didnt need to go trough security again, since my bag was checked in trough.

I want to give a shoutout to the Staff at brussels airport. it was so nice being there, and Especially staff at the gate was very friendly.

We took off into a clear eveningsky, and sunset was soon after.

Flight was smototh, nothing much happened.

I arrived in Hamburg after 22:30. It really was a long day of travel.

Looking back to it, the trip was very nice. I had QSOs to Indonesia, Japan, Brazil, so the antenna was defintly the right choice.
